Short Film: “Obvious Child”
A new film from Lonely Reviewer friends Anna Bean and Gillian Robespierre has just debuted on-line and we wanted to let you know ’cause it’s really good. It stars Jenny Slate. (You may have seen her debut last week on ‘Saturday Night Live.’) It’s a touching comedy about abortion and relationships. I know the phrase ‘comedy about abortion’ doesn’t come up all that often, but it really is funny. (And it’s also really sweet.)
“Obvious Child” has just been accepted into the Big Apple Film Festival in November and I have no doubt you’ll see it at other fests this winter. Yeah, it’s that good. Check it out below:

“Date Night” Sneak Peek
The first picture from Steve Carrell and Tina Fey’s new movie, “Date Night,” has been released. The story is about a long-married couple who try to revive their relationship by going out on dates together as different people. Sounds like a good idea, well, that is, until they run into a case of mobsters and there’s a some mistaken identity hi-jinks. The movie is directed by Shawn Levy, who directed the first Steve Martin “Pink Panther” movie as well as both “Night at the Museums.” Hopefully this will be funnier than those movies. The movie will be released next April.
