Jay Reviews: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hit theatres a little more than a week ago and I finally got a chance to sit down and transcribe some coherent thoughts about the movie. This time out, it’s Indy (Harrison Ford) versus the Russians over a crystal skull and a scheme for some sort of strange uber-psychic power. Indy’s not alone on this adventure however, as he is joined by “loner/tough guy” Mutt (Shia Labeouf) and his mother, ex-Indiana love interest, Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen).I’ll leave the plot synopsis at that, because we all know that from here on out, tombs were explored, whips were cracked, and somehow, somewhere, a bad guy was going to suffer some sort of horrible flesh removing death before all was said and done.

American Gladiators: “You won’t like them when they’re ANGRY”!

Just caught wind of this one via the Hollywood Reporter: Apparently on June 9th American Gladiators will have themselves an Incredible Hulk themed episode to promote the upcoming film! Audience members will be flooded with Hulk paraphernalia, while the gladiators (including a very green Titan) themselves will get to use those big toy hulk hands in the gauntlet event. Plus, to top it all off, Lou Ferrigno will be a special guest host (thus doubling your Hulk-hosting power).

BWAHAHAHAHA, how funny and awesome is that! I don’t care what anyone says, it’s great to see Lou Ferrigno back on tv again—His ‘incredible hulk’ use to scare the crap out of me when I was a little guy back in the day.

Doom 4 Announcement

Doom 4 Announcement

ID Software announced yesterday that they are beginning production on another installment of their largest franchise, Doom. It would appear that they are currently putting out a call for resumes to expand their internal team – anyone interested should head on over to their job postings page here.

Now would also be a good time for them to plan a movie version of the game too—I’m thinking it should star…..oh, I don’t know…..how about the Rock, perhaps?  Yeah! And then they should also do some sort of super cool first person shooter mode in the middle of the movie!! Oh man, so many GREAT ideas, I think I’ll apply for a job!……

DVD Review: American Ninja 2 “The Confrontation”

American Ninja 2: The Confrontation is 100% pure uncut 80’s awesome, plain and simple. You can just feel it right from the opening sequence of the movie, when we see several guys screaming along a windy road on their motorcycles—not just any motorcycles mind you—Ninjas! That sets the tone right then and there, because from that point on you’ve got some sweet ninja action heading your way.

Xbox 360 Review: Army Of Two

army-of-two-screen.jpgToday I’d like to take a look at the recently released shooter from EA Games, Army Of Two, for the Xbox360.

The touted draw to this game is that it’s really meant to be played in Co-Op mode, whether via Xbox live or split screen. This will allow the players to perform team related tasks, such as accessing higher areas by jumping off of your comrade, vehicle combat (one drives and one fires), simultaneous sniping, [Read more...]

24 Prequel On The Way

24 Prequel On The Way

Jack Bauer is back……for 2 hours at least. Producers at over FOX have decided to develop a two hour TV movie, presumably to air this fall, for the hit series 24. The story is set to take place between seasons six and the upcoming season 7, which was delayed to a January 2009 premiere as a result of the writers strike.
