I liked back in the day when you'd go to see a movie and the trailers attached were the first time you'd see those trailers. Those were exciting days. I just have this terrible feeling that the Shutter Island trailers also spoiled things...hope I'm wrong. Hollywood needs to be douched. Yeah, I rarely watch trailers anymore and I try not to read too much about the movie beforehand. A huge spoiler is dropped in the trailer for Terminator Salvation when you know that Sam Worthington's character is a machine. I knew that going in, but someone else who I saw it with did not. When I told them how I knew the whole time, he said that was the one part of the movie that he thought was the most interesting, whether or not the character was actually a machine or not. It didn't completely ruin the movie, but, I can definitely see how each of our experiences watching the film were different, only because a major plot point had been "spoiled" by the trailer.
