All I have to say is holy. crap. Sam Raimi, director of Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and Spider-Man has signed on to direct World of Warcraft, an adaptation of the infamous massively multiplayer online role playing game. The game comes from Blizzard Entertainment, also known for their Diablo and Starcraft franchises.
The report has been confirmed by Variety. The studio is aiming for a PG-13 rating. I really can’t believe that this is actually happening with a director like Sam Raimi. I never thought that they’d get anyone but Uwe Boll (who Blizzard would never hire) to take this one on.
I’m very happy about their decision, that said, will it be a good film? Only time will tell.
Oh, Vatche…
I wish I shared your enthusiasm. Sadly, I do not. Keep in mind that this is coming after Rami wraps “Spiderman 4,” which I have not heard a lot about, so, I’m assuming they don’t have a script that they’re happy with, a cast, etc.. That’s a hell of a lot of time for Rami to wake up, bathed in sweat yelling, ‘My God, what have I done?’
no. way. it’s gonna be awesome Sam.
