When a film already has a built in audience, the inclination is to pander to that audience. I admit it wasn't fair to single out HALO, especially since I haven't seen it. A much better example would have been DOOM. Though HALO hasn’t come out yet, I used it as an example of a studio looking for a bankable video game that could make a ton of money at the box office by appealing directly to gamers.
