‘Fast and the Furious’ For a Fourth Time

For some reason, I’m going to admit this, I think the first Fast and the Furious film is so bad its good. But that’s where it ends for me. Thats when I pull my Civic with lights in the underbelly to the side of the road, put some money in the meter, and go buy myself a cup of coffee. There was no need to make a franchise of this.

That’s when a second one came out, and then, a third. Universal is sequel happy lately, especially for their lower budget sleeper hits. But, at the end of the day, a studio is about making money, rather then asking themselves, should we make this film, its you think we’ll make money on this? I guess, the one fortunate thing is, they haven’t basterdized the franchise to make a bunch of direct-to-dvd titles (a la Bring it On and American Pie), but then again, is the celluloid really worth it?

Michelle Rodriguez apparently has signed on to reprise her role from the first film which also stars, Vin Diesel (when called, he wasn’t doing anything else), Paul Walker, and Jordana Brewster. The film follows Diesel and Walker as their characters are undercover, tracking a drug dealer by joining his team.

I won’t see you at the films release. June 5, 2009.
